Test Route Won't Run in OR or Open in MSTS

Hello everyone - apologies if this is an old problem.. I haven't found any hints .....

I have downloaded TSRE5_v0.69.zip, and extracted it to a folder (My Documents\TSRE) and then copied TSRE5_v0.6974.exe and run that.

I have created a test route (C:\MSTS\ROUTES\test) with only 1 piece of track in it (loving the map and height features).

When I open the route in Open Rails, I do not get the option to run any train the 'Start' button under Single Player remains greyed out.
When I open MSTS, the route (which is in the MSTS\Routes folder as are all of the MSTS ones... which work in OR BTW) my 'test route' doesn't even appear in the routes list.
MSTS Route Editor opens my test route and shows the single piece of track.

I'm guessing there is a missing file or something.

You have to create paths for your route. Use OR Track Viewer for this purpose.

Thanks, that's fixed it.

In MSTS you can just drive around in "Explore Route" and not follow any routes at all, manually switching points. Can you do that is TSRE5 / OR?

Even in Explore Route you have to select path (start point).
Path is not an activity. You do not need to run activity to play a route, but path is required.
If your route has no paths yet, you can use TSRE option to crearte debug paths from route menu.
