There are a bunch of replacement text editors out there.
ConText is one. I've used Notepad++ and Notepad2 (my current preference). They are all capable of UTF8 encoding, which is important when it comes to MSTS and ORTS.

Re: Error in the TBD of Dynamic tracks
It looks like the numbering for the DT got written as { n-65535 } instead of continuing to { 65535+n } I wonder if hand editing the Trackpath numbering to be +65535 might get things in synch with the local tsection again? Or... deleting out the >65535 numbers from both the TDB and local tsection. I ...

Re: Error in the TBD of Dynamic tracks
65535 is a magic number... it's the largest 16 bit unsigned integer possible.
DT should be used sparingly. On my routes that average 200+ miles in length, I might use 10 pieces of DT. A few have zero.

Re: Error in the TBD of Dynamic tracks
No way to do a rebuild for just a single tile. Hand editing the TDB is not for the risk averse. I do it, but I've been building routes for 12+ years, and will only use it to get rid of an occasional orphaned track section. If you go to Tools -> Errors & Messages does anything come up? Enabling t...

Re: Error in the TBD of Dynamic tracks
Agree with Garry. One thing I've noticed is that the TDB geometry and positions seem to be cached for lack of a better term, and sometimes tracks don't line up or snap correctly.
Deleting, saving, closing, re-opening and rebuilding with a new piece seems to fix that.

Re: Error in the TBD of Dynamic tracks
Have you tried using the Z key to remove from the TDB and then the Z key again to re-add it?

Re: How to change a diamond crossing switch into the double slip switch in TRES 5 programs
I don't believe there is an easy answer to your question. X-Tracks and Kuju Tracks do not have a 5d slip switch. Someone would need to re-build the track entirely at that location using geometry which supports a slip switch -- that would be a 10d, 7_5d, 6_3d or 3d with the pieces available in X-Trac...

Re: Mtracks Track Database Alignment Error
Skew was originally for route builders who couldn't calculate approach angles over short distances and needed to line up pieces before the smaller sections like 0.2m were invented.... It's rare enough that not supporting it shouldn't be a huge loss.

Re: Mtracks Track Database Alignment Error
Interesting. Just a guess that skew isn't very common thus not tested much when TSRE was being developed.
